SET IT STRAIGHT!!!

How many times have you been warned about something or someone by an older person (considered to be a lot more experienced in life) and yet you didn't listen? Especially if you are a young woman who has just fallen in-love with her "dream" man, then forget it, mom's advice no longer hold. I know a woman who seem to have almost always been right about cautions like this; my mother.
I heard a sad story today, of a young lady who had held very high moral standards of who her lover should be like: a man who loves God, honest, loving, caring, hard-working and stable individual. Well, she did meet him, or so she thought. In the beginning, it was like Heaven on Earth and nothing or no one could successfully stop their burning passions and fondness for each other. It was as if the world had only these two love birds dwelling in it, until she recently found out her dreams will soon turn into a nightmare; their relationship was formed on a bunch of lies and deceit!

This morning during church service, I listened to a biblical message on forgiveness; letting go off the pain, hurt, deceit and all the feelings of disappointment after one has been hurt by another that he/she loved and trusted dearly. While sitting in the fully air-conditioned room of over two thousand believers, and wondering how and by what standards God expects us to forgive, it suddenly dawned on me that what if this woman actually decided to forgive the guy that broke her trust, would we expect her to relate with him as though nothing ever happened before? My point is, if a man or a woman opted to end an affair due to circumstances he/she deems irreconcilable, even after he/she has forgiven the wrong that was done against him/her...is that wrong? After all, I don't have to remain in a relationship with a dishonest person if I feel that would be a problem for our future; however, I could still forgive her/him and let go off the past. RIGHT? ...what do you think?
